The Dojo is more comprehensive, since it takes rebalancing and the new characters into account. While the adjustments aren’t huge, they are appreciated. The smaller tweaks to modes can easily be overlooked. Answer and Baiken are most noticeable, as are the Arcade Episodes and story additions. With Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, many of the changes are rather minor. But this was the one area where I didn’t feel like like I had any real reason to play around with options, as I did in Revelator. (Chipp and Answer look great together, as you can see above!) Maybe it is just because I haven’t had the fortune to fish up enough enough figures-related items.

Sure, Answer and Baiken figures are here now. The Digital Figure Mode is the only one where I didn’t feel like there was much to make it feel fuller or richer in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. It is a lineup with a lot of variety, making the successive matches more stimulating.

It takes a long time to start building ranks, especially after you’ve been playing for a few hours and your character gets to level 30 or so.įor those interested in knowing what you can find right away in the M.O.M. The main difference is the addition of more items. It is a survival mode where you buy buffs and accessories for your chosen character, level and rank up to increase their power, strength of enemies faced, and rewards enemies will drop. It is pretty much identical to the one we saw in Revelator. Mode (Medals of Millionaires) was more fun in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. Mission Mode has also had Answer and Baiken added to it, which means you can try using all of the characters you like against them in the tutorial matches to prepare yourself for their moves. Combo Mode and its challenges take into account the small balance changes made to each character. And, since you can switch who you’re working with in the Dojo without going back to the main Character Select screen, it is easier to invest hours learning here. Whenever you go into Combo Mode or Mission Mode, you come away feeling like you’ve actually learned something. It is just as comprehensive in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 as it was in Revelator. The Dojo is still amazing and one of the best fighting game tutorials I’ve ever experiences. But the new things that do come are appreciated. It is not like we’re getting whole new modes beyond Arcade Episodes for certain characters. Typically, the other game modes are adjusted as well. Whenever an Arc System Works game receives an update, it isn’t just the character roster and story mode that gets expanded.
